Work Study Job Fair serves entire campus
Kevin McFarland (Financial Aid; seated) helped to sign in approximately 500 Work Study students at the first ever Federal Work Study Job Fair held in the Student Union Building last Friday. The Office of Financial Aid hosted its first annual Federal Work Study (FWS) Job Fair last Friday, where more than 500 Work Study students had the opportunity to meet and interview with more than 40 campus departments looking to hire Work Study students for the upcoming year. The FWS program plays an important role on campus, since Work Study students are involved in almost every area of the institution. The job fair was successful in streamlining the hiring process by having both departments and students in the same place and at the same time, thus creating a one-stop-shopping atmosphere. Students enjoyed refreshments and several door prizes, courtesy of local businesses. The Office of Financial Aid would like to thank the Office of Student Activities for its assistance, Campus Auxiliary Services (CAS) for donating refreshments, and all campus departments that participated. |
