College Foundation holding $10 raffle for free tuitionThe SUNY New Paltz Foundation is holding a $10 raffle, where the grand prize winner will receive one year, instate undergraduate tuition at SUNY New Paltz. Net proceeds of the tuition raffle will go directly to the SUNY New Paltz Recruitment Scholarship Endowment.
"This initiative is a win-win opportunity for everyone," said Eileen Bastien, director of donor relations at SUNY New Paltz. "Ticket buyers not only get a chance to win great prizes, they also support a scholarship endowment that allows for the dream of a college education by providing renewable scholarships to incoming freshmen." Tickets can be purchased in person in room 501 at the Haggerty Administration Building on the SUNY New Paltz campus. The grand prize may be redeemed for the cash equivalent of $4,350. The second place prize is $1,000 toward an on-campus meal plan, split between the fall and spring semesters, courtesy of Campus Auxiliary Services. If the winner of the meal plan prize is not a student, it may be redeemed for Hawk Dollars, which can be used at all dining services locations, most campus vending machines, the Campus Bookstore and several businesses in New Paltz. The grand-prize drawing will take place at noon, Oct. 8, at the Foundation Scholarship Brunch. Ticket holders need not be present to win.
