Volunteers needed this summer to work at Empire State Games

Hudson River Valley Empire State Games logo

The SUNY New Paltz Empire State Games Committee is encouraging the entire campus community to become involved as the Hudson Valley plays host to the nation's largest amateur athletic event, the Empire State Games, on July 27 - 31. In addition to hosting competitions in archery, boxing, synchronized swimming and tennis, New Paltz has agreed to house and feed 2,000 athletes.

As part of this initiative, the committee encourages everyone to volunteer online at www.newpaltz.edu/empiregames for the many jobs that must be done in order to ensure that the games are successful.

All volunteers will receive a logo tee shirt and be invited to a special social event because of their participation.

Employees may volunteer for up to four hours of their regular workday, with approval of their supervisor. This will be considered directed work, and employees will not need to charge accruals for that period. If employees volunteer for any time other than regular work hours, either in the evening or on the weekend, that will be strictly volunteer time, with no payment due. Sign up online today!
