SUNY New Paltz Hosts Holiday ExtravaganzaFor the first time ever, SUNY New Paltz will host the New Paltz Holiday Extravaganza for the college and community from noon to 6 p.m., Nov. 19-20, in the Student Union Building Multi-Purpose Room. Dozens of area vendors will participate, offering cashmere, fine leather, jewelry, home goods, gift baskets, elegant clothing, spa treatments, hand-blown glass and gourmet edibles. "This colorful marketplace will provide more than retail therapy," said Sally Cross, director of development at SUNY New Paltz and board member of the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce. "In addition to abundant treats and goodies, shoppers can enjoy holiday performances, live music and free personal caricatures from a local artist. When your shopping is finished, have it gift-wrapped and then treat yourself to a soothing massage." Entry is free, and the event is open to the public as well as to SUNY students, faculty and staff. The Holiday Extravaganza is sponsored by Empire State Bank and presented by SUNY New Paltz and the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce.
