Summer Circus Camp discounts price for New Paltz faculty and staff

Space is still available for The National Circus Project’s Summer Circus Academy, and there is now a 15 percent discount for faculty and staff and their children. The original price of $445 is being marked down to $378.25. The dates are: July 12-23, with a circus performance on July 24. The camp accepts participants ages 8 and up, and will teach juggling, unicycling, tumbling, clowning, stilt-walking, tight-wire, aerials and much more in a non-competitive, physical atmosphere. The circus trainers also encourage adults to register for this professional circus camp training. Times are 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. If needed, arrangements can be made for children to be picked up at 4 p.m. for no extra cost. For a program description or more information, call Jenn Piren at x3033.

Barbeque in the SUB courtyard

photo: Nick Delpezzo calls down to Bill Powers (both of the Food Service Department) in the SUB courtyard last Friday at the first summer BBQ.

The Facilities Operations department has refurbished the courtyard in the SUB basement for use as a dining or general meeting area, according to John Shupe (Director of Facilities Opperations). Michelle Chapin (Food Service) is offering barbecue lunches on Fridays during the summer. The entry door to the courtyard will be unlocked early in the morning, so please feel free to eat lunch or relax in this campus space.

Faculty and staff to benefit from enhancements to my.newpaltz.edu

Faculty logging into my.newpaltz.edu have new features available beginning this summer. They can now send attachments along with their e-mails to advisees and course rosters. In addition, adviser reports have been modified so that they are faster in responding and are customizable. For instructions and more information, read the Faculty Guide to my.newpaltz.edu, available on the my.newpaltz.edu home page.

These new enhancements add to the existing features including viewing course rosters, easily creating Excel files of course rosters, viewing advisee reports, joining the experts database or modifying profiles, and viewing teaching schedules. Faculty and staff can fill out FOC Work Request forms, change NPCUID passwords and view directory listings. Academic department secretaries can update their department’s adjunct directory. Refresher courses will be held in August for academic department secretaries to aid with updating their adjunct directories for the fall. Look for an e-mail announcement in mid-July with those dates and times.
