In Memoriam
Army Spec. Doron Chan, 20, of Highland, N.Y., died March 18 near Balad, Iraq, when his convoy vehicle was cut off by a civilian vehicle, casing his vehicle to swerve and flip over. Chan was an engineering major at SUNY New Paltz. Donations will be accepted for a scholarship fund in Chan's name for Highland High School students. There will also be a silent auction in which all proceeds will go towards the scholarship fund. Local businesses and restaurants have donated gift certificates, and local artists have donated their artwork to be auctioned.
