Elisa Davila (Foreign Languages) had two poems published in "Alhucema: Revista de Teatro y Literatura," (Vol. I, No. 11, Enero-Junio 2004), published by Editores Dauro in Granada, Spain. The poems' titles are: "Los otros tienen intento..." and "Barco, te has soltado..." This international journal is distributed in Europe, Africa, the Americas and Oceania.

Brian Obach (Sociology) published a book titled "Labor and the Environmental Movement: The Quest for Common Ground"(MIT Press 2004). This book examines the complex relationship between the two most powerful progressive social movements in the United States, organized labor and the environmental movement. While many issues, such as free trade agreements and workplace health measures, serve to unite these two movements, the specter of job loss makes some unionists wary of environmental regulation. This study examines when and under what circumstances workers and environmentalists will unite around common goals and when they will come into conflict.

Yaser Khalifa (Electrical and Computer Engineering) presented and published the paper “Isomorphism Elimination to Enhance Design Centering of Analog Circuits Using Genetic Algorithms and the Regionalization Method” at the IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, Dec. 14-17.

Howard Good (Communication & Media) published a poem, “Outtakes,” in the spring issue of Rose & Thorn, available online at theroseandthornzine.com.
