Gala raises $25K for scholarship

The preliminary reports are in: the Gala event, celebrating both the town and the college's significant anniversaries at the historic Mohonk Mountain House, was a huge success.

About $25,000 was raised to begin a scholarship endowment for a New Paltz student to attend the college -- a permanent gift to the college and the community on the 325th anniversary of the town and the 175th anniversary of the college.

"Many generous donors, committee members and volunteers across the community pulled together to create an outstanding event," said Sally Cross, director of development.

The Gala Committee thanks every one in the community for their generous support.
