Awards, Honors, Appointments and Recognition

Ted Clark (Business Administration) has been awarded a $9,500 grant by the Ulster Savings Bank for his project titled, "Ulster Savings Bank Public Image Study."

Margaret Gutierrez (Mid-Hudson Migrant Education Outreach Program) has been awarded a $27,666 grant by the Geneseo BOCES/U.S. Department of Education for her project, "Alcanzar Subcontract with BOCES Geneseo Migrant Education."

Chui-chun Lee (Library) has been awarded an $11,999 grant by the New York State Education Department for her project, "Coordinated Collection Development Aid Application, 2006- 2007."


Heather Hewett (English,Women's Studies) published "At the Crossroads: Disability and Trauma in The Farming of Bones" in the journal of the Society for Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States.

Eve Waltermaurer (Sociology) published the article "Black Women's Health: The Effect of Perceived Racism and Intimate Partner Violence" with Carole-Ann Watson of the New York State Department of Health and Louise-Anne McNutt of the University at Albany in the journal "Violence Against Women."

Presentations, Exhibitions

Salvatore Engel-Di Mauro (Geography) participated in the "Rethinking Marxism 2006" conference in October at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst by serving as organizer, chair and discussant in two panels, and by presenting a paper, "Historical Contingencies of Resource Preservation: Menominee Anti-Colonial Resistance and Forestry."
