CAS calls for award nominations

The deadline to nominate a Campus Auxiliary Services employee for a Making a Difference Award is Nov. 30. Winners will be honored with portraits and biographies to be displayed in Hasbrouck Hall or the Student Union Building. Nomination forms are available in the Campus Auxiliary Services offices, Jazzman's, the Student Union Building, Hasbrouck Hall or on the Web at

Chancellor's Awards deadline near

Nominations of academic and professional faculty for a Chancellor's Award for Excellence can be submitted until Dec. 1. Categories include Faculty Service, Librarianship, Professional Service, Scholarship and Creative Activities, and Teaching. Library book sale opens Dec. 3

The Sojourner Truth Library will hold its Fall Used Book Sale Dec. 3-14 during regular library hours (Sunday, 1-11:30 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.) in the library gallery.

The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Sojourner Truth Library. All proceeds benefit the library.

Holiday party invites on the way

Invitations for the annual Holiday Open House for academic and professional faculty and the Awards Luncheon for classified staff (including those on Research Foundation Grants and University Police) are on the way.

The Open House will be held at the home of President Steven Poskanzer and his wife, Jane, on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Poskanzer will host the 22nd Annual Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Sodexho, at noon on Friday, Dec. 7, in the Student Union Building Multi-Purpose Room.

Student art museum night set

The Art History Association will host a student night in the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art from 8 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 6. "Museum at Moonlight" activities include music, a scavenger hunt and a raffle. The event is sponsored by a Campus Auxiliary Services grant.
