Tennis team triumphant

Tennis Team

The women's tennis team claimed the 2007 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tennis Championship during the weekend of Oct. 12-14 at the Eastside Racquet Club in Manlius. The Hawks claimed three of the six singles flights and all three doubles flights on the way to winning their second consecutive championship. "This championship win was a great team accomplishment," said coach Rob Bruley. New Paltz finished with 32 points, and Geneseo was second with 29 points. By winning the SUNYAC Championship, the New Paltz team receives an automatic bid into the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III tournament, which takes place in May 2008.
