van den Berg Hall renovation design declared outstanding

Newly renovated, van den Berg Hall was recognized in August for its outstanding design. An article in “American School & University Shaping Facilities & Business Decision,” listed the $8.5 million renovation project under the heading “Outstanding Designs: Common Areas.” Pictures of the lobby entrance, corridor, gathering nook and a multimedia classroom are included in the one-page spread. The article commends Hall Partnership Architects, LLP for using smaller zones acheived through wall, ceiling and light articulation to overcome a long corridorx. The article also notes the design of gathering nooks that provide students with seating and writing surfaces. The warm, sophisticated colors that were incorporated into the design to “provide a more corporate image for the business school” was also applauded. The new mechanical systems, sophisticated audiovisual system and wireless technology were also mentioned.
