The New Paltz Summer Repertory Theatre’s 2006 season
began with “Proof,” which concludes its run on July 9, and continues
on July 13 with the opening of “Talley’s Folly.”
Lanford Wilson’s second play in the Talley Family series,
“Talley’s Folly,” runs until July 23. It tells the story of Salley
Talley, a young woman from a conservative, wealthy, Protestant
family, who falls for an older, Jewish man named Matt
Friedman.
Both productions take place in the Parker Theatre.
Tickets for both productions can be purchased online, by
phone or in person. The Box Office is open 11:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m., Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to all performances.
Tickets are $24 and $19 for seniors. A subscription discount

The 11th season of PianoSummer, the SUNY New Paltz international
summer institute and festival for piano music, opens on
July 15 and continues through Aug. 4.
All events are open to the public to provide the students with
experience performing in front of an audience.
The season opens with the Faculty Gala at 8 p.m. on
Saturday, July 15, in McKenna Theatre. Featured performers are
PianoSummer artistic director Vladimir Feltsman (Music), as
well as Robert Hamilton, Phillip Kawin, Alexander Korsantia,
Paul Ostrovsky, Alexander Slobodyanik and Susan Starr.
The highlight of the season is the Symphony Gala with the
Hudson Valley Philharmonic, which closes the three-week program.
Here, the winner of the Jacob Flier Piano Competition
will perform a piano concerto with the Philharmonic.
There will also be recitals by Korsantia, Sergei Babayan and
the PianoSummer students.

Departments with work-study allocations for the 2006-2007
fiscal year are invited to participate in the Work Study Job Fair
from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 in the Multipurpose
