Fund for New Paltz 2006 campaign
focuses on students and scholarships

The New Paltz Foundation
is dedicated to raising money
for student scholarships during
its six-week faculty and
staff campaign, which began
in March and will conclude in
May.
Faculty and staff members
can support the Fund for New
Paltz, an annual campaign to
raise money for the areas of
greatest need on campus such
as faculty support, campus
programs and alumni programs.
This year's theme is "It's
'Crunch' Time: Support Our
Scholars with Your Dollars."
Chocolate candy bars
wrapped in a donation form
were given away with paychecks
in March.
In keeping with the focus
on students, four Foundation
scholarship recipients are
serving as campaign co-chairs
this year. The Faculty and
Staff Campaign Steering
Committee nominated
Eranuvia Castillo '06
(Finance), Michael
Vanderbilt '06 (Theatre Arts
and Political Science),
Fitzarnaz Drummond
(Finance and Marketing) '06
and Mary Ezenwa '06
(Psychology) to share their
experiences.
"Who better to educate our
campus community about the importance of supporting
scholarships than
those who have been
impacted first-hand by
receiving a Foundation
scholarship," said
Lucia Mallardi '96,
director of annual giving.
There are a multitude
of ways for faculty and
staff to participate over
the course of the campaign,
which culminates
with the Annual
Faculty and Staff
Campaign Donor
Recognition Reception
scheduled for 3 to 4:45 p.m.
on Wednesday, May 10, at the
College Terrace. Those who
participate by Friday, April 28,
will be entered into a drawing
that includes prizes donated
from local merchants and
organizations.
For more information, visit
the campaign’s Web site at
www.newpaltz.edu/fscampaign.
Faculty and staff donations
can be made as an outright gift
(check, cash or credit card), a
biweekly payroll deduction, an
electronic funds transfer
(EFT), credit card billing or
online submission.
There is also the parking
space auction, which in its second
year, has raised $700 for the Fund for New Paltz. Five
spaces are up for bid: a campus
employee space, a classified
staff space, a faculty
space, a management confidential
space and the professional
staff space. Bids can be
placed via e-mail at auction@
newpaltz.edu or by
phone at x3239. The winners
will be announced at the close
of the May 10 reception.
While the campaign ends
May 10, donations can be
made at any time during the
fiscal year ending June 3, by
