
Awards program to praise classified staffThe dedicated service of the campus’s classified staff will be rewarded at this year’s faculty/staff barbecue in May when the first recipients of the Classified Staff Presidential Award Program are announced. to recognize the exemplary The awards will consist of a Certificate of Appreciation, a gift basket with New Paltz logo items, and a $500 gift certificate. Nominations for 2007 can be submitted to Human Resources through April 20. “We would like everyone to take the time to consider and recommend a classified staff employee for this award,” said Cathy Beard, assistant vice president for Human Resources. the form of: exceptional service
in meeting student needs; submission
and/or implementation
of an innovative idea that saves
resources or generates new dollars; Employees
may be nominated
by a
supervisor,
another
employee, a All campus employees represented by Civil Service
Employees Association
(CSEA), Public Employees
Federation (PEF) and Agency “Given the talent and professionalism of our classified staff, we expect to receive many qualified nominations and expect our committee to have a tough job selecting the winners,” said Poskanzer. The Award Program Committee consists of representatives from each bargaining unit: there will be two CSEA representatives, one from PEF, one from ALES, as well as one representative from Human Resources. The committee will recommend award recipients to the college president, who will confirm the selection. Beard consulted with officials from each bargaining unit, other campus human resources departments and members of her own staff to develop the criteria for the award program. Questions regarding the
