Business school receives $10,000

Lawrence E. Bauer '90g (English) and Joan Lawrence- Bauer '93 (Communication and Media) have pledged $10,000 to the School of Business to support a wide variety of new student- centered programs. They have been longtime supporters of a wide variety of SUNY New Paltz activities.

Lawrence-Bauer, a former faculty member, was inducted into the School of Business Hall of Fame in 2004 for her work with the School of Business Advisory Council and Outreach Committee.

Bauer, a retired businessman and former teacher at Onteora High School, shares his wife's passion for working with students. Bauer understands the importance of connecting business students with the real world as they go through their formal education process.

To acknowledge their generous gift, the School of Business will dedicate a study area in van den Berg Hall in their names. For more information about the School of Business, visit the School of Business Web site.
