Twelve international education professionals from Finnish higher education institutions will conduct a site visit to the campus on Feb. 13.
They will meet campus administrators and the New Paltz Center for International Programs staff as a part of the week-long 2008 Finnish Fulbright International Educators USA Study Tour.
Bruce Sillner, dean of International Programs, added that the ultimate goal of this visit is to provide the Finnish delegation with the opportunity to share its knowledge and to contribute to the advancement of closer transatlantic linkages.
The delegation's visit to campus is the second half of a five-day international education study tour that begins at the Institute of International Education (IIE) headquarters in New York City. From there, the delegates will conduct two days of site visits to public and private colleges, including New York University, the University of Massachusetts and Boston University.
"By including New Paltz, it really is recognition of the strong standing that we have among comprehensive universities in international education - and it comes from IIE, which is the preeminent organization in the world for fostering international education exchange," said Sillner.
