What's New?

Change in December graduation location

Due to increased participation in December graduation, the December 2006 Commencement Ceremony has new dates and locations. The graduate ceremony will be held from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, on campus -- either in the new Athletic & Wellness Center or the Studley Theatre. The undergraduate ceremony will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie. Mark your calendars!

Banner listserv debut

All faculty and staff have been subscribed to the Banner listserv, where the college is planning a bi-weekly update to communicate progress, changes and announcements regarding its implementation on campus. We will also be launching a Web site soon with these updates, and will include a fairly detailed time line, steering committee list, teams and their members, and more. Banner is a comprehensive, integrated system that encompasses student records, financial aid, admissions, alumni, advancement and accounting operations. Banner has been available for two decades, and during that time has been undergoing constant development. It is currently the most widely used package in higher education administration.

Now accepting new "Faces"

The Office of Public Affairs is now accepting online submissions for Faces of New Paltz, the central feature of the college’s home page. Faculty, staff and students can recommend members of the community in the following areas: undergraduate students; graduate students, international students; alumni; and teaching faculty. An online recommendation form is available at my.newpaltz.edu. Questions can be e-mailed to faces@newpaltz.edu. New faces will appear later this semester. Until then, check out our home page for a showcase of some of the past faces.
