Lee Bernstein (History) will lead a workshop for faculty interested in mentoring undergraduate research projects, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, in the Teaching and Learning Center in College Hall. Lunch will be provided.
Faculty members with no prior mentorship experience with undergraduates are encouraged to attend. Topics to be explored include recognizing and fostering development of student researcher characteristics and what type of work is appropriate for student researchers. Participants will receive a copy of “How to Mentor Undergraduate Researchers,” a booklet filled with tips and information.
To sign up for the workshop, contact Maureen Morrow, Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities director, at x3376 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
The Graduate School will hold an Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Terrace Restaurant.
Prospective graduate students are encouraged to attend and bring their transcripts to the event.
Representatives from the college's graduate programs, including the new Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and Master of Science in Music Therapy programs, will be available to answer questions and provide program information.
Comprehensive descriptions of all the graduate programs can be found the graduate school's web site. For more information about the Graduate School Open House, call x3285.
