SUNY New Paltz offering $10 raffle

04/10/2006

NEW PALTZ -- The State University of New York at New Paltz Foundation is holding a $10 raffle, where the grand prizewinner will receive one year, in-state undergraduate tuition at SUNY New Paltz. Net proceeds of the tuition raffle will go directly to the SUNY New Paltz Recruitment Scholarship Endowment.

"After a successful run of the raffle last year, we knew we had to try this again," said Eileen Bastien, director of Donor Relations at SUNY New Paltz. "Parents, students and the community came together to support recruitment scholarships by participating in the Tuition Raffle. What a great way make a difference in the life of an incoming freshmen."

Tickets are $10 each, three for $20 and can be purchased in person in room 501 at the Haggerty Administration Building on the SUNY New Paltz campus beginning April 11.

The grand prize may be redeemed for the cash equivalent of $4,350.

The second place prize is $1,000 towards an on-campus meal plan, split between the fall and spring semesters, courtesy of Campus Auxiliary Services. If the winner of the meal plan prize is not a student, it may be redeemed for Hawk Dollars, which can be used at all dining services locations, most campus vending machines, the Campus Bookstore and several businesses in New Paltz.

The grand prize drawing will take place at the Parents and Family Weekend Dinner on October 7, 2006. Ticket holders need not be present to win.
