SUNY New Paltz Emergency Response Team to conduct live action drill

NEW PALTZ - The State University of New York at New Paltz's Emergency Response Team (ERT) will be conducting a live action drill on Saturday, Nov. 3, in the campus's Coykendall Science Building from 1-4 p.m.
The ERT is tasked with keeping the college up to date in its preparations for emergency situations, whether natural or manmade. The ERT is comprised of key personnel from throughout the campus and is co-chaired by SUNY Police Chief David Dugatkin and Director of Environmental Health and Safety for SUNY New Paltz Michael Malloy.
The upcoming drill is designed to test the college’s response to an emergency incident occurring in one of its science buildings. The drill will be a learning process for all involved and will culminate with a “debriefing” of all involved parties immediately after the drill.
The media are invited to attend this event. There will be a viewing area available outside of the Coykendall Science Building for media and spectators to observe the drill. Members of the ERT will be available to meet with the media after the drill is completed and the debrief has occurred.

- The SUNY Office of Environmental Health and Safety
- The SUNY Chemistry Club
- The New Paltz Fire Department
- The New Paltz Rescue Squad
- The New Paltz Police Department
- Representatives of the NYS Office of Fire Control
- SUNY students participating in disaster management courses
