Statement from SUNY New Paltz President Donald P. Christian on Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s State of the State Address

NEW PALTZ - President Donald P. Christian issued the following statement about Governor Cuomo’s announcement that he will extend the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant to all SUNY campuses:
“SUNY New Paltz welcomes Governor Cuomo’s decision to extend the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Act to all SUNY campuses. As the only four-year public university in the mid-Hudson Valley, New Paltz – along with our nearby community college partners - is a vital educational and economic driver in the region. Our overarching goal is to provide a relevant and high-quality education that produces graduates prepared to meet 21st century workforce needs and to thrive in a diverse and complex global society. Broadening this challenge grant opportunity reflects Governor Cuomo’s faith in SUNY to achieve these goals that are critical to our state.”
