President Supports Five-Year Tuition Plan
06/25/2011
New Paltz-President Donald P. Christian issued the following statement about the Governor and Legislature’s support of a five-year tuition plan for SUNY campuses:
"I am delighted by the leadership of the Governor and the Legislature in supporting long-overdue reform of how tuition is set in New York State. This is a historic day for SUNY and for SUNY students and their families, who will be able to plan for their educational expenses with this rational tuition policy. At New Paltz, this additional revenue will let us hire full-time faculty to teach the courses students need to graduate in a timely fashion, and will let us increase aid to make sure that all New Yorkers continue to have access to a New Paltz degree and education. ”
Located in the heart of a dynamic college town, 90 minutes from metropolitan New York City, the State University of New York at New Paltz is a highly selective college of about 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
One of the most well-regarded public colleges in the nation, New Paltz delivers an extraordinary number of majors in Business, Liberal Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Fine and Performing Arts and Education.
New Paltz embraces its culture as a community where talented and independent minded people from around the world create close personal links with real scholars and artists who love to teach.
