Two business students pass certified MBA exam

NEW PALTZ -- William Dabroski and Bethany Woodard, MBA candidates in the SUNY New Paltz School of Business, have passed the Certified MBA (CMBA) exam from the International Certification Institute (ICI). Upon graduation, they will be among the first group of MBA recipients to earn the CMBA distinction.
"We are very proud of Bill and Bethany," said Hadi Salavitabar, Dean of the School of Business. "They worked very hard to become the first people to take the test, and they have proven that they are outstanding students."
The CMBA is the only professional certification designed to confirm a student's command of the common body of knowledge required across all accredited MBA programs. Earning the CMBA designation provides an MBA with a key point of differentiation in a crowded job market, confirming for employers that he or she has a firm grasp of the core business knowledge necessary for today's business leaders.
"We hope that more of our students will choose to take the CMBA exam," Salavitabar said, "This is an excellent credential."
Dabroski will graduate from the MBA program at SUNY New Paltz this spring where he previously received his B.S. in Accounting. Woodard, of Saugerties, received her B.S. in Business Administration from SUNY New Paltz in 1984, and will receive her MBA in 2005. Because they are among the first to pass the rigorous CMBA exam, they will be charter members of the Association of Certified MBAs (ACMBA).
