SUNY New Paltz launches 175th anniversary Web site
04/22/2003
NEW PALTZ -- The State University of New York at New Paltz has begun its year-long celebration of their 175th anniversary to acknowledge the rich history of the institution since the founding of the Classical School in 1828. A special Web site was created to commemorate the anniversary and can now be found online at www.newpaltz.edu/175.
The Web site includes five main sections, including "history," "events," "resources," "partners" and "this month."
In the "history" section there is an interactive timeline that shows details and photos covering the past 175 years of the institution. There are also historical articles, an online walking tour, the New Paltz postcard collection and the Ulster County Legislature's proclamation of the college's anniversary.
The site will list all of the events throughout the year associated with the anniversary, including the opening ceremony, which will be held this Friday, April 25. Under "this month" the college will highlight events taking place, as well as feature articles.
