10/28/2002

NEW PALTZ -- The State University of New York at New Paltz will host Graduate and Professional School Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 29, in the Lecture Center north lobby.

Selected graduate schools participating are Adelphi University, Albany Law School, Columbia University-College of Arts and Sciences, Hofstra University, Iona College, Long Island University, New England School of Law, NYU, Quinnipiac University School of Law, and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. A total of 30 schools will be participating, including our own graduate admissions office.

"Students are seeking advanced degrees as a means of increasing their competitiveness in this job market," said Tonda Highley, associate dean of student advising in the Advising and Fieldwork Center. "By pursuing an advanced degree in a field that they want to go into, they can increase their skill-sets and knowledge base so they can compete better in the job market."

The event is free and open to all students. Please contact Tonda Highley at (845) 257-3236 if you have questions or would like assistance with any other career concerns.
