News Conference With Sydney Schanberg and Jim Ottaway Jr.

NEW PALTZ -- The State University of New York will host a news conference at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11 at the campus' College Terrace Restaurant.

The purpose of the news conference is to introduce Sydney Schanberg as the first fellow named to the James H. Ottaway Sr. Endowed Professorship for Journalism.

Participants include:

Sydney Schanberg, internationally-known journalist who won the Pulitzer Prize for international journalism in 1976 and won several other awards for his reporting career at The New York Times and Newsday.

Jim Ottaway Jr., chief executive officer of Ottaway Newspapers, Inc. Ottaway made the donation that supports the endowed professorship.
