Welcome to the SUNY New Paltz Department of Music Web site. We invite you to peruse the information regarding our various programs and meet our faculty. The Music Department is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the American Music Therapy Association.

The Music Department is a part of the School of Fine & Performing Arts and has a large variety of liberal arts and professional courses to offer prospective students. Course descriptions may be found in the undergraduate catalog or the academics section of this Web site.

The Music Department has a full range of performing ensembles for students, including College-Youth Symphony, Symphonic Band, College-Community Chorale, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Collegium Musicum, and Chamber Jazz Ensembles.

The Music Department offers an extensive series of on-campus concerts involving faculty members, guest performers, students, and student ensembles.

Many courses and ensembles are open to non-majors as well as majors.
