Dear Member of the Class of 2012:
Welcome back to SUNY New Paltz!
Thursday, August 21st is New Student
Moving-In Day. This is the day designated for ONLY
our new students to move into their residence halls
between the hours of 10am and 4pm (Note: NO
students are allowed to check-in on Friday and only
returning students will be allowed to check-in on
Saturday and Sunday).
Orientation Part II begins that evening with dinner with your Orientation Leader and continues through Friday, August 22nd. You will officially be welcomed into the college community at noon on Friday at Fall Convocation—with President Poskanzer, faculty, staff and student leaders joining all first-year students for this kick-off event and picnic which follows. That evening, Orientation Part II ends and Welcome Week begins at the Lip Sync Finals, which will be held at the Athletic and Wellness Center. In addition to moving into the residence halls on Thursday, August 21st, new students can take care of other business in the Student Union and Administration Buildings until 4 p.m.: buy textbooks (SUB Basement), open a bank account (at the Credit Union), pay an outstanding bill in Student Accounts (Administration Building, 2nd floor), etc.

Pre-ordered books can be picked up based
on the following days only from 9a.m. to 5p.m.:
Last name beginning A-I - Thursday, August 21st
Last name beginning J-P - Friday, August 22nd
Last name beginning Q-Z - Saturday, August 23rd
Computer Help
ResNet/Computer Help Desk staff will be available in
the Welcome Center on Thursday, August 21st from
9am - 4pm. Please feel free to stop by for answers to
questions, referral to appropriate campus offices, and for
free refreshments and snacks.
