April 2008: Siamo Qui / We Are Here
Symposium and Exhibition in Florence, Italy
In April 2008, SUNY- New Paltz graduate students participated in Siamo Qui- We Are Here symposium and exhibition in Florence, Italy. Sponsored by Alchimia Scuola di Gioelleria Contemporanea, this event brought together fourteen schools, representing universities of applied arts from various continents and diverse cultural backgrounds, to participate in a dialogue on the present and future of jewelry. Each school was given an opportunity to create an installation that demonstrated their their various definitions, concepts, convictions, passions of, on, and about jewelry.
