Ranysha Ware Awarded GEM Fellowship

03/21/2013

Ranysha Ware, 2013 GEM Fellow

Ranysha Ware, a computer science major and mathematics minor, was awarded a 2013 GEM Fellowship. The National GEM Consortium connects with a growing base of corporations, universities, research centers, and U. S. government laboratories to provide GEM Fellows financial support and practical experience through advanced-level internships. The program is highly selective and has similar requirements to any graduate program.

Ranysha will begin her graduate studies in computer science at the University of Massachussettes at Amherst in Fall 2013. She will be a Summer Research Intern with MIT Lincoln Laboratory for the next two summers. Her research work at Lincoln Labs will involve computer science and linear algebra.

Ranysha says: ``It was a very long application process that I began over summer 2012. I had to complete an online application, interview with potential employers for an internship, and apply to at least 3 GEM Member Universities. The whole process was very daunting but obviously worth it.''

Congratulations, Ranysha!
