Students in graphene lab.
New Paltz students visited Albany NanoTech, on a trip sponsored by the SIAM Student Chapter and the Department of Mathematics. One stop was a lab studying the conducting properties of graphene (pictured).
(Graphene is similar to a single atomic layer of graphite, and is the basic building material of carbon nanotubes and fullerenes.)
