Failure Analysis @ IBM

Students of SUNY New Paltz are given a tour of the Failure Analysis division of the IBM plant in Fishkill, NY. Here the group is shown the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscope or FTIR by senior chemist Nancy Klymko. This tool is used to study the infrared vibrational spectrum of complex unknown substances. The group tour was organized by the SIAM Student Chapter at SUNY New Paltz. Thanks to Benjamin Briggs for organizing the tour.
