Calculus Students Think Their Class is Fun
10/09/2007

Nothing quite like an antiderivative for a good laugh and joke. Here the class is eagerly anticipating the integral from zero to infinity of x times arc tan of x divided by one plus x squared all squared, which involves an unlikely integration by parts followed by an unlikely trig substitution followed by a double angle formula and then a limit. What a hoot that will be! They optimistically hope that it won't be on the test.
