PLEASE NOTE:

The college will be suspending the Master of Science in Education and Master of Arts in Teaching for French, Spanish, Earth Science, Chemistry and Mathematics. program because of cuts to the New Paltz operating budget. No new students are being admitted. Students currently matriculated in these programs will be given an opportunity to complete their degree program. The Department of Mathematics offers a master's degree in mathematics. This program in pure mathematics features a rotating selection of advanced courses in mathematics. For more information contact the Program Director, Donald Silberger.

In conjunction with the Department of Secondary Education we offer a Master's of Science degree in Secondary Education. This degree is designed for secondary education teachers who need a Master's degree for permanent certification.

Also in conjunction with the Department of Secondary Education we offer a Master's of Arts degree in Teaching (MAT). This degree is designed for those with a bachelor's degree in mathematics who would like a rapid route to certification as secondary education teachers.
