Musical performance in one of SUNY New Paltz theatres

SUNY New Paltz also enriches the lives of community members through its scholarly and cultural offerings. Large numbers of public and academic conferences, art exhibits, musical performances, speeches and symposia enlighten and educate the community each year.

Some of our offerings include:

  • The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art (SDMA) located on our campus has a permanent collection that spans a period of almost 4,000 years. It collects and features works of art created by artists that have lived and worked in the Hudson Valley and Catskill regions.
  • Theatrical peformance in one of SUNY New Paltz theatres
  • Broadway in NYC is an hour and a half away, but McKenna, Parker and the Studley Theatres are only minutes-and feature Broadway-like talent with our student performers. View our main stage productions
  • Philharmonic-quality recitals abound at the Nadia and Max Shepard Recital Hall.  View our music concert series
  • Every summer we host the PianoSummer International Institute and Festival dedicated solely to piano music. It concludes with a piano concerto with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic.
