SAB 118A Smart Classroom Instructions

Touch the Crestron Screen to activate itPress the red System Power icon, and wait while the System powers up.  The projector will be powered on and the screen will be lowered.  The computer monitor will also be powered on. 

Select your source:

Computer - Press PC on the Creston screen.  Press the power button on the Computer and log in using your Novell Username and Password.  If the projected image does not fit correctly on the screen, press the Auto Sync button on the bottom of the Crestron screen.  When done, please shut down the computer BEFORE shutting down the Crestron system.

Document Camera – Press Document Camera on the Crestron screen.  The document camera will be powered on.    If necessary, press the Lamp button to cycle through the upper lamp, lower lamp or lamp off settings.  Upper lamp is used for opaque paper or objects such as a textbook, notes or outlines, photos, or three-dimensional objects.  Lower lamp is used for overhead transparencies or slides.  Adjust the zoom and focus buttons as needed. 

Laptop – Press Laptop on the Crestron screen.  Connect your laptop to the provided cables.  If you have a Mac, you may need to use an adaptor.  If the projected image does not fit correctly on the screen, press the Auto Sync button on the bottom of the Crestron screen.

On the Crestron screen, optional buttons include:

Black Screen stops any projection to the class screen while allowing you to continue to view it on your monitor.

Freeze Screen will freeze a projected image.  This is useful when moving items on and off of the document camera.

Pressing the Black Screen or Freeze Screen button a second time will return projection to normal.

Utility provides additional control of the screen, projector, and document camera.

DVD/VHS Press DVD or VHS on Crestron screen.  Insert disc or tape into unit, located in lower cabinet.  DVD or VHS controls are operational on the Crestron screen, using the up, down or side arrows to navigate through the on-screen menus.  Another option is to use the accompanying remote control. 

Adjust volume up, down or mute on the left side of the Crestron screen.

35mm Slides –Two slide projectors are located in the projection booth at the back of the room and are controlled with two wireless remotes, located at the instructor’s station at the front of the room.  There is no Crestron control for 35mm slide projection.

SHUT DOWN - At the end of class, SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER PRIOR TO SHUTTING DOWN THE SYSTEM.  Then press the green System Power button on the left side of the Crestron Screen.  This will raise the screen and turn off power to the projector.
