Classroom Instructions for Use

Classroom A/V Equipment

To project an image from the DVD/VHS combo unit:
1. On the projector remote control, locate the OPERATE button.  Point the remote control toward the right screen and press the OPERATE button.  The projector is behind the screen and is not visible.  The remote will pass through the screen and turn on the projector.   Allow a few minutes for the projector to warm up and reach maximum brightness.
2.  On the top right of the remote, press the VIDEO button until VIDEO is seen on the screen.
3.  Turn on the computer and log in.  The volume control for your DVD or VHS is controlled from the speaker icon on the bottom right corner of your monitor.
4.  Play your DVD or VHS.  Adjust the volume on the computer as needed.

To project an image from the computer:
1.  On the projector remote control, locate the OPERATE button.  Point the remote control toward the right screen and press the OPERATE button.  The projector is behind the screen and is not visible.  The remote will pass through the screen and turn on the projector.   Allow a few minutes for the projector to warm up and reach maximum brightness.
2.  On the top right of the remote, press the COMPUTER button until COMP2 is seen on the screen.  
3.  Turn on the computer and use Academic Computing’s instructions to log in on the NOVELL login.

To project an image from the document camera: 1. On the projector remote control, locate the OPERATE button. Point the remote control toward the right screen and press the OPERATE button. The projector is behind the screen and is not visible. The remote will pass through the screen and turn on the projector. Allow a few minutes for the projector to warm up and reach maximum brightness. 2. On the top right of the remote, press the COMPUTER button until COMP2 is seen on the screen. 3. On Extron box, located on top of the instructor’s station, press button 2. 4. Press the power button on the lower left of the document camera. 5. Choose your settings: the lamp button will cycle between the top lamp for documents, lower lamp for transparencies, and lamp off.

To project an image from a laptop:
1.  On the projector remote control, locate the OPERATE button.  Point the remote control toward the right screen and press the OPERATE button.  The projector is behind the screen and is not visible.  The remote will pass through the screen and turn on the projector.  Allow a few minutes for the projector to warm up and reach maximum brightness.
2.  On the top right of the remote, press the COMPUTER button until COMP2 is seen on the screen. 
3.  On Extron box, located on top of the instructor’s station, press button 2.
4.  Press the power button on the lower left of the document camera.
5.  Connect the laptop output to the document camera’s input, located on the back of the document camera.  A 15-pin connector cable is provided for your use.  If you have sound, a mini plug is attached to this cable.  Connect the mini plug to your laptop’s audio out jack.  Press the INT/EXT button on the document camera until the laptop image can be seen on the screen.
