Classroom Instructions for Use

Classroom A/V Equipment

Most equipment in this classroom is controlled through the Crestron Touch Screen.  Start by touching the Crestron Touch Screen to activate it.  Program volume is located on the right side of the touch screen.  Microphone volume is on the left.  Volume must be set for at least 50% to be audible.  Light Control is on the right side above volume.  When pressed, two yellow circles will appear in the center of the touch screen.  Press the circles to adjust light.  The large projection screen is in the lowered position.  It cannot be raised at the moment.

DVD/VCR – press DVD or VCR on Crestron touch screen.  The LCD Projector will turn on automatically.  Turn on the power to the VCR or DVD player located in the left cabinet.  Insert tape or disc.  VCR or DVD controls are operational on the Crestron Touch Screen.  DVD can also be controlled by remote.

Computer – press PC on the Creston touch screen.  The LCD Projector will turn on automatically.  Turn on power to the PC located in the center cabinet.  At the Novell sign in, follow Academic Computing’s instructions and enter your New Paltz Computer User ID and password.  Be sure to log out when you are finished.

Document Camera – press Doc Cam on Crestron touch screen.  The Document camera can be found in the right drawer of the cabinet.  Raise the arm by pushing on the gray button at its base.  Unfold the lights and point the camera down. Turn on power on the document camera.  The red light indicates off, the green light indicates on.  Press button on the document camera labeled LAMP.  Press several times, cycling through upper lamp, lower lamp or lamp off settings.  Upper lamp is used for any opaque object or paper such as a textbook, your notes or outline, photos, or three-dimensional objects.  Lower lamp is used for overhead transparencies or slides.  Adjust the zoom and focus buttons as needed.

Classroom A/V Equipment

Laptop – Press Guest Mac or Guest PC on the Crestron Touch Screen.  The LCD Projector will turn on automatically.  Call IMS at x3630 for help connecting your laptop.

Turn off the projector at the end of class.  Press SYSTEM OFF on the lower right side of the Crestron Touch Screen.  Then, press YES on touch screen. Please turn off the PC, DVD, VCR or document camera, as needed.  The amps and switchers stay on.
Additional Controls are Laser Disc, Audio Cassette, Slides and Auxiliary.  Slides are currently out of service in this room.  Press the appropriate option on the Crestron touch screen and turn on the equipment.
