Classroom Instructions for Use

Turning on the projector: Turn off the room lights. Point the remote control toward the projector and press the ON power button. Hold the button down for approximately one or two seconds, then release. You should hear the fan start. The projector takes a few minutes to reach maximum brightness. While the projector is warming up, turn on the power to the computer or DVD/VCR. If you are using the computer, remember: At the Novell sign-in, follow Academic Computing Department’s instructions and enter your New Paltz computer User ID and password. Be sure to log out when you are finished.
Select your input for the projection: The screen control is located on the wall near the instructor’s station, to the right of the blackboard. It has three positions: Up, Stop and Down. To connect a laptop or document camera: Connect the VGA cable from the laptop or document camera to Input 2 on the back of the Extron box. The classroom computer can be viewed by pressing the button 1. The laptop or document camera can be viewed by pressing button 2 on the Extron box. |

To turn the equipment off: Turn off the room lights. Point the remote control at the LCD projector. Press the OFF power button for about one or two seconds. Turn the lights back on. The bulb will go off but the fan will continue to run. It will turn itself off when the bulb has cooled. Turn off the computer or the DVD/VCR. Never touch the ceiling mounted LCD projector.
