Lower the electric screen. Hold down the screen control switch, located on the wall near the instructor's station.
Turn on the LCD projector. Point the projector remote control toward the ceiling-mounted projector. Press the "ON" button for about two seconds. It takes a minute or two for the projector to turn on and reach maximum brightness.
Turn on the Computer. At the Novell login, follow Academic Computing Department’s instructions and enter your New Paltz computer user ID and password. Be sure to log off when you are finished.
To Display the Computer from the Projector: on the Extron box, located on the front edge of the desk, press button 1 for computer. Then on the remote, press Input 1 for computer.
DVDs may be played through the computer, using the Power DVD program.
To Use the Document Camera: Press Doc Cam Button 2 on the Extron box. Turn on the document camera by pressing the power button. Press the INT/EXT button on the document camera until the document camera's image is projected.
To Display a Laptop: Locate the cable on the side table labeled LAPTOP. Connect the VGA cable to the laptop video out. Your laptop may require a converter. Connect the 1/8" mini audio cable to the laptop audio out. On the Extron box located on the front edge of the desk, press button 2, labeled Doc Cam. Turn on the document camera. Press the INT/EXT button on the document camera until the laptop's image is projected.To Display the VHS Video Player from the Projector: Turn on the power to the VHS Player, insert tape and press play. Then on the projector remote, press Input 3 for video.
Volume control is located on the projector's remote control. The projector must be on for the sound to be heard.
USB Drives may be connected to the computer via ports on the left side of the monitor, the front surface of the computer, or the top edge of the keyboard.
At the end of class, turn off the computer, document camera or video player.
To turn off the projector, press the "STANDBY" button on the projector remote control.
