Classroom Instructions for Use

Most equipment in this classroom is controlled through the Crestron Touch Screen. Start by turning on the LCD projector. To turn on the LCD projector, press the top left button labeled “ON” on the Crestron. You will hear the projector turn on and gradually warm up. It may take a minute or two for the projector to reach maximum brightness. |

Select your source by pressing the top right button on the Crestron labeled “SELECT SOURCE”. What do you want to project? Touch the screen to select PC, laptop, DVD/VCR player, or document camera. PC – press PC on the Creston touch screen. Turn on power on the PC. At the Novell sign in, follow Academic Computing’s instructions and enter your New Paltz Computer User ID and password. Be sure to log out when you are finished. Laptop – for laptop connection, call IMS at X3630. We will assist you. |

DVD/VCR – press DVD or VCR on Crestron touch screen. Turn on the power on the DVD/VCR player. Insert disc or tape. DVD or VCR controls are operational on the Crestron touch screen. Adjust volume up, down or mute on the Crestron left buttons. DVD/VCR can also be controlled by remote. Document Camera – press document camera on Crestron touch screen. Turn on power on the document camera. The red light indicates off, the green light indicates on. Press button on the document camera labeled LAMP. Press several times, cycling through upper lamp, lower lamp or lamp off settings. Upper lamp is used for any opaque object or paper such as a textbook, your notes or outline, photos, or three-dimensional objects. Lower lamp is used for overhead transparencies or slides. Adjust the zoom and focus buttons as needed. Turn off the projector at the end of class. Press the DISPLAY OFF button on the Crestron. Then, press YES on touch screen. Also, please turn off the power on the PC, DVD/VCR or document camera, as needed. The amps and switchers stay on. |
