Classroom Instructions for Use
Lower the electric screen by holding down the screen control switch. This is located on the wall near the instructor’s station, to the left of the whiteboard.

Turn on the LCD projector by holding down the ON button on the projector remote control for about one second. The LCD projector should turn on after a few seconds. You should hear the fan turn on first. Gradually, the screen will grow brighter as the projector warms up. On the projector remote, choose your INPUT. The computer can be viewed on INPUT 1. The VCR/DVD can be viewed on INPUT 3. For computer use, turn on the power. At the Novell sign in, follow Academic Computing’s instructions and enter your New Paltz Computer User ID and password. Be sure to log out when you are finished. For VCR/DVD use, turn on the power. Insert the tape or disc. Use the controls on the deck or on the silver remote control to start and stop the videotape or disc. |

For LAPTOP USE, connect an HD15 cable from the output of the laptop to Input 2 on the back of the EXTRON CONTROL BOX, located under the front of the instructor’s station. The classroom PC can be viewed by pressing button 1. The LAPTOP can be viewed by pressing button 2. Volume control for sound is located on the lower part of the projector remote control. The remote control will work when pointed at the projector or at the screen. At the end of class, turn off the computer or VCR/DVD player. Press the OFF button twice on the projector remote to turn off the LCD projector. (The fan will run for a few minutes after you turn off the projector. It may not be possible to turn the projector on again until the bulb is completely cooled and the fan turns itself off.) |
