Turning on the projector:
Point the remote control toward the projector and press the POWER button.  Hold the button down for approximately two seconds, then release.  You should hear the fan start.  The projector takes a few minutes to reach maximum brightness. While the projector is warming up, turn on the power to the computer or VCR.

(Note:   If you turn on the projector and then inadvertently turn off the projector, it will not turn back on until the bulb is completely cooled.  Be patient.)

Look for the screen control on the wall.  It has three positions:  Up, Stop and Down.
Lower the screen.

If you are using the computer, remember:  At the Novell sign-in, follow Academic Computing Department’s instructions and enter your New Paltz computer User ID and password.  Be sure to log out when you are finished.

Select your input for the projection on the remote control:

Press video for VCR projection

Press RGB for computer projection

There is an Extron switcher box located under the instructor’s station.  It must be set to #1 for classroom computer projection.  To project your LAPTOP, connect a computer cable from your laptop to the back of the Extron box, input 2.  Press button #2 on the front of the Extron box.  You are now ready to start class.

To turn the equipment off:
Point the remote control at the LCD projector.  Press the POWER button for about two seconds. The bulb will go off but the fan will continue to run.  It will turn itself off when the bulb has cooled. 

Turn off the computer or the VCR

Never touch the ceiling mounted LCD projector.  It is alarmed and LOUD!!!
