On the right front of the instructor’s station, locate the handle of the sliding Extron control unit and pull it out. You should now see the controls for the LCD projector, Computer and VCR/DVD.

The button marked DISPLAY POWER will turn on the LCD projector, mounted on the ceiling. Press and hold this button for about three seconds.

The LCD projector should turn on after a few seconds. You should hear the fan turn on first. Gradually, the screen will grow brighter as the projector warms up.

On the Extron control unit, choose PC or VCR. Press the desired button.

For computer use, turn on the power. At the Novell sign in, follow Academic Computing’s instructions and enter your New Paltz Computer User ID and password. Be sure to log out when you are finished.

For VCR/DVD use, turn on the power. Insert the tape or disc. Use the controls on the deck or on the silver remote control to start and stop the videotape or disc.

Volume control for sound is located on the Extron Control Unit.

At the end of class, turn off the computer or VCR/DVD player. Press the DISPLAY POWER button on the Extron Control Unit to turn off the LCD projector.
(The fan will run for a few minutes after you turn off the projector. It may not be possible to turn the projector on again until the bulb is completely cooled and the fan turns itself off.)
