Duties: The Sojourner Truth Library at SUNY New Paltz invites applications for a Visiting Librarian - Library Systems and Tech Support. Reporting to the Head of Library Technology, this full-time, professional faculty position will provide administrative and operational support to the library technology team managing various library information systems. In addition, this position will provide opportunities to work in other areas such as Reference, Circulation and Technical services.
Successful candidate will be trained and mentored to perform the duties as follows:
Assist with ILS (Aleph) admin support;
Assist with ILLiad admin support;
Assist with tech support for library faculty and staff;
Assist with tech support for the DASH Lab;
Provide occasional reference services at the Front Desk (2-4 hours per week during the semester);
Assist with Tech Support team students training and supervising, cross-training other staff and students working at the front desk;
New projects as assigned by supervisor
MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited program of information science, or equivalent;
Proficiency in computing skills
Integrated library system experience highly desirable
