Duties: THE RESEARCH FOUNDATION FOR SUNY, a private not-for-profit educational corporation invites applications for a full-time Mid-Hudson Migrant Education Outreach Program Director. MHMEOP supports the educational needs of migrant eligible youth in Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester Counties. Effective 9/2013, Sullivan County will be added to this region. The program provides school year and summer supplemental academic assistance, advocacy, coordination with schools and community agencies and outreach activities.
Specific Duties:
The successful candidate will, with input from staff and parents, plan, implement and oversee program services. The Director is responsible for the overall operation of the program. Responsibilities will include hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff; prepares program narrative and budget applications; oversees budget, oversees data management and filing of required reports, attends state Migrant Education Consortium and statewide committee meetings; and is a liaison with SUNY New Paltz School of Education and other Departments.
Qualifications: A minimum of a Master’s Degree, preferably in Education or an educationally related field and 3-5 years of experience in teaching, education administration and working with families and students. Preferred qualifications include and administration degree, bilingual Spanish/English skills, demonstrated knowledge of educational issues and strategies from pre-school through adolescence.
