Duties: The Director of Development Services provides oversight and direction to all constituent and gift information maintained in the SUNY New Paltz Banner database, as well as the prospect researcher and analyst.
Responsibilities include preparing reports, gift processing and data entry documentation, records maintenance, use and support of computer-based information systems, and direct supervision of gifts and records processing staff. This includes implanting a regular schedule of information updates (bad address, phone number and emails), creating of new parent and alumni records, and incorporating biographical information and links received from a variety of sources.
Responsibilities also include the receipt, reporting, and acknowledgement of all charitable gifts, and pledges received by the SUNY New Paltz Foundation.
The Director of Development Services works closely with the Development Office and IT staff to deal with a wide variety of functions relating to the development, implementation, maintenance, documentation, use, and support of computer-based Development information systems.
Qualifications: Candidates should have considerable experience with the Banner database system as well as Argos and Xtender and in the supervision of gifts recognition, processing, and reporting prospect research. Experience with working with external software companies is strongly desired as is the ability to coordinate equipment upgrades, purchases, installation and repairs with campus computer center. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in working in an academic environment or other complex institution is highly desired.
