Duties: The department of Music at the State University of New York at New Paltz invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Music Therapy beginning in Fall 2013.

Duties: Teach Music Therapy undergraduate and graduate core courses and supervise and advise students engaged in research that reflects the diversity of the field. Supervise clinical work and these and advise and recruit students. The faculty member will be expected to show evidence of excellence in teaching, establish a strong program of research and scholarship, advise students, and contribute to the life and work of the department and the college.

Qualifications: A doctorate in Music Therapy or related area is required; exceptional ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered. Current Music Therapy Board Certification required; eligible for LCAT within three years. Minimum five years of music therapy clinical experience; knowledge of current music therapy methodology; and strong interpersonal, instructional, clinical, and musical skills are desired, as are college teaching experience and a record of scholarly research, presentations and/or publications. Candidates who bring diverse cultural experience and who are especially qualified to mentor and advise all members of our diverse student population are especially encouraged to apply.
