Department: Development

Budget Title: Sr. Staff Assistant

Local Title: Gifts Officer

Posting Date: July 28, 2009

Salary Level: SL-3

Duties: Responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of 150-200 individual, as well as corporate and foundation, prospects and donors.

•Personally manage a portfolio of prospects who have the capacity to give gifts of $1,000 or more

•Maintain a full schedule of personal visits, as well as other contacts with prospects

•Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategy and timeline for each assigned prospect

•Achieve or exceed individual annual target dollar goal, as well as annual goals for recruitment of new major donors and newly qualified major gift prospects.

•Work with fundraising volunteers and committees as assigned

Qualifications: Qualifications:

• Self-motivated individual who can work both independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated record of success in soliciting major gifts

• Exceptional writing and communication skills

Education and Experience:

•A bachelor’s degree, CFRE/ACFRE certification preferred, and five or more years fundraising and gift solicitation experience

• Preference will be given to candidates with proven track record of successful major gift fundraising, particularly with a public college or university.
